An online campaign falsely accused a Muslim farmer in Bowmanville, Ontario and other area farmers of operating an illegal halal slaughterhouse, leading to harassment, threats and calls to boycott halal meat. A former mayor shared the property's address and promoted a protest, and a local Muslim school reported drones surveying its grounds.
